The only draw back of this kind of USB setup is the inability to perform impulse comparisons to work out delay between drivers in an active setup although John at REW is working on an idea he has to make this work.Ĭlick to expand.Being a vintage audio geek I'm actually more interested in restoring speakers to correct function. I can honestly say that given best practice you'll find this setup as accurate as any other and much much simpler. You will need the calibration file for your Mic to load into REW as well, this is found in your user downloads section of the minidsp site normally, you'd need to speak with Keith about this point to clarify how you get that file. Worth checking that it works the same way on Mac. On a pc when you plug open REW and plug the Mic in you get a pop-up asking if you want to use this Mic. There is no convoluted configuration and loopback to do as with non USB mic's so is about as simple as this kind of thing gets. Hi Tony, not sure about the Mac version as I've never used is but miniDSP and John of REW fame worked very closely together to make this Mic a plug and play affair.
